Reproduction refers to copying, storing, or distributing music in any format—physical (CDs, vinyl) or digital (downloads, streaming files, apps, or platforms).
Reproduction of music
When music is copied, stored, or distributed, whether physically or digitally, and used in a product, service, or for the purposes of distribution, a license is required.
General Information
Reproduction refers to copying or storing music in any form, physical or digital. A reproduction license is required where music is duplicated, distributed, embedded into other content, or included as part of a product or service. It applies to traditional formats such as CDs or DVDs, as well as digital use. A license from EMRA allows production companies, content creators, distributors, and businesses to use any music for these purposes. The licensing rates depend on how the music is used, the format in which it appears, and the scale of distribution, and may differ from licenses covering performance or broadcast use. For full details of the applicable rates, please refer to “Tariffs” or contact us for further information. To enter into a licensing agreement, please click on “Get a license” and submit your application.
